CORONAVIRUS STATEMENT 24.03.2020

The health and safety of both children and parents who participate in English Youth BalletŐs rehearsals and performances is of the utmost importance to me. With regard to the Coronavirus (Covid-19), we will be following official Government guidelines and stronger measures now have been introduced.

This is the EYB update on our future performances I and my staff will be re-organising the rehearsal schedule for all these postponed performances and will inform parents in due course. I fully appreciate that there may be children in each production who cannot attend the new rehearsal dates. In the meantime Philip Tunstall one our principal dancers is giving childrenŐs ballet classes on INSTAGRAM 8-12 years Thursday at noon and 12 years upwards Friday at noon. This will keep us all active!

EYB in AYLESBURY

Giselle -The ballet has been taught and is ready to go into the theatre, but the theatre has postponed the performances . They have proposed these dates 22nd-24th June. Please could the Aylesbury cast put these dates in your diary. We would also ask that all participants practice the taught chorography as best as you can in your personal circumstances. We will keep you informed of any further updates we receive from the theatre.

EYB in DARLINGTON

Cinderella in Hollywood- most of this ballet has been taught. The Hippodrome performances have been postponed. The new performance dates and time in the theatre is 18th 19th 20th September. On the 20th there will be a Sunday Matinee. Please keep the dates free and keep practising.

EYB in SOUTHEND

The Cliffs Pavilion have re-scheduled our Southend performances for 20th July. There will be 2 performances on that date. Many parents have sent in their Acceptance forms to secure the place offered so that we have a cast for the Giselle ballet.

EYB in NORWICH

The Theatre Royal have also now re-scheduled our performances and the new date is August 2nd and 3rd . The closing date for acceapting the places is 27th March and I ask parents to send in the paperwork and first instalment (optional) so that we have a cast ready. Again I appreciate that some may not be able to take part due to holidays booked but at this stage every thing is uncertain.

Please understand that we are, like everyone else, are trying our best to make the best decisions we can given the unprecedented circumstances that currently exist and there are many things that are simply out of our control.

I wish you all safe and well
